First Captain Gerard Arganda

He is First Captain of Queen Alliandre's forces in Ghealdan.

Physical Description

He is short and hard-bitten. He is graying and has dark eyes. (WH,Ch2)

Gerard Arganda begins his military career at age fifteen. (CoT,Ch7)
During his career, Arganda commands soldiers against Whitecloaks, Altarans and Amadicians. He fights in the Aiel War and survives the Blood Snow at Tar Valon. (CoT,Ch7)
When Arganda learns that his queen was captured, he wants to put the Aiel with Perrin to the question. Perrin stops him and tells him to have his men ready to ride. (WH,Ch2)
Arganda is barely under control, waiting to hear news of Alliandre. (WH,Ch5)
Perrin sends orders to Arganda to get the Ghealdanin troops moving. (WH,Ch6)
Arganda comes with reinforcements when he hears of the Darkhound tracks. He races to the trackers who return with news of the Shaido. (CoT,Ch7)
Arganda suggests ransom, but Perrin decides against it. Arganda accompanies the party that goes to scout the Shaido camp. (CoT,Ch8)
Arganda brings Perrin money to purchase food in So Habor. (CoT,Ch25)

When Gaul and Neald kidnap Galina near Malden, she tells Perrin, Berelain and Arganda that she is in Malden on Aes Sedai business and that she is protecting Faile and Alliandre. Perrin mistakenly trusts her to send a message to Faile. (KoD,Prologue)
Arganda and Gallenne accompany Perrin and Berelain as they meet with Banner-General Tylee Khirgan. (KoD,Ch4)
