[Rand|Rand alThor]'s entourage gathers in the courtyard in front of the [Sun Palace]. They include [Dashiva|OsanGar], [Flinn|Damer Flinn], [Narishma|Jahar Narishma], [Dobraine|Dobraine Taborwin] and a hundred of his men, [Min|Min Farshaw], [Alanna|Alanna Mosvani], [Bera|Bera Harkin], [Rafela|Rafela Cindal], [Faeldrin|Faeldrin Harella] and [Merana|Merana Ambrey]. [Nandera] leads two hundred [Maidens|Maidens of the Spear]; [Camar] of the [Bent Peak] [Daryne] leads two hundred [Black Eyes]. He asked for [Verin|Verin Mathwin] and [Kiruna|Kiruna Nachiman] as well, but [Verin|Verin Mathwin] is questioning the prisoners about their plans for [Rand|Rand alThor].[1] [Kiruna|Kiruna Nachiman] is "consulting" with [Sorilea]. [Alanna|Alanna Mosvani] has a brief conversation with [Min|Min Farshaw], which embarrasses her. [Rand|Rand alThor] puts [Merana|Merana Ambrey] in charge, because she was head of the [Salidar Aes Sedai] group. This causes concern amongst the [Aes Sedai].[2] His horse is [Tai'daishar] ("Lord of Glory") in the [Old Tongue]. [Min|Min Farshaw] is riding [Seiera] (a flower also called a blue-eye). They all head to the [Sea Folk] ship. A boat captain, [Elver Shaene], takes [Rand|Rand alThor], [Min|Min Farshaw], the [Aes Sedai], the [Asha'man] and a bunch of the men and [Maidens|Maidens of the Spear] from the dock to the ship, ''[White Spray]''. The [Karaethon Prophecy|Karaethon Prophecies] says, "The north shall he tie to the east, and the west shall be bound to the south." [Min|Min Farshaw] [views|viewings] the five [Aes Sedai]:

* "They will keep their word. I just saw these five in your hand."

He makes a bridge from the boat to the ship from [Air|One Power] laced with [Fire|One Power]. A woman could make one longer, even if she is weaker. One cannot use the [One Power] to fly; even the [Forsaken] do not know why.  He and [Min|Min Farshaw] go up followed by the [Asha'man] and [Aes Sedai]. They meet [Harine din Togara Two Winds], [Wavemistress|Sea Folk] of Clan [Shodein|Sea Folk]. She introduces [Shalon din Togara Morning Tide], [Windfinder|Sea Folk] of Clan [Shodein|Sea Folk], [Derah din Selaan Rising Wave], [Sailmistress|Sea Folk] of ''[White Spray]'', and [Taval din Chanai Nine Gulls], [Windfinder|Sea Folk] of ''[White Spray]''. [Flinn|Damer Flinn] and [Narishma|Jahar Narishma] stare around in amazement but [Dashiva|OsanGar] does not. [Harine|Harine din Togara Two Winds] invites him to her cabin. A white haired man[3] starts to follow, but [Harine|Harine din Togara Two Winds] waves him off. [Merana|Merana Ambrey] says to takes two [Aes Sedai] to balance the [Windfinders|Sea Folk]. He takes [Min|Min Farshaw], [Dashiva|OsanGar], [Merana|Merana Ambrey], and [Rafela|Rafela Cindal]. He is not sure why he picks [Rafela|Rafela Cindal], but she is the only other non-[Green|Green Ajah].[4] The other [Aes Sedai] approve of his choice. The [Jendai Prophecy|Jendai Prophecies] says the [Sea Folk] will serve the [Coramoor|Jendai Prophecies]. It says the [Coramoor|Jendai Prophecies] will bring the [Sea Folk] to glory - all the seas of the world will be theirs. [Rand|Rand alThor]'s %%ot [ta'veren|Wheel of Time]%% effect causes [Harine|Harine din Togara Two Winds] to agree to serve him. [Min|Min Farshaw] tells her she will be punished for this, but she will eventually be [Mistress of the Ships|Sea Folk]. [Rafela|Rafela Cindal] says she heard reports several years ago of a girl who could see things.  [Min|Min Farshaw] acknowledges it is she. [Merana|Merana Ambrey] is surprised and intrigued. [Rand|Rand alThor] wants their ships for transport and for them to supply him with information from all their ports, especially the [Aryth Ocean]. [Harine|Harine din Togara Two Winds] says all [Aryth Ocean] ships have vanished and [Rand|Rand alThor] immediately suspects the [Seanchan|Seanchan (People)]. [Dashiva|OsanGar] talks to himself again. [Rand|Rand alThor], feeling claustrophobic, departs leaving [Merana|Merana Ambrey] and [Rafela|Rafela Cindal] behind to complete the bargain. As they leave, [Rand|Rand alThor] wonders why the [Forsaken] have not tried to destroy him in the [Sun Palace].[5] [Rand|Rand alThor] is feeling manic. As they head back to the [Sun Palace] he says he will now go settle with the rebels.
