Two soldiers are protecting the [King of Ghealdan|King of Ghealdan (TV)], who has been wounded in the shoulder. The two soldiers stop and confront [Logain|Logain (TV)] while the [King|King of Ghealdan (TV)] continues onward. They throw spears at him, but [Logain|Logain (TV)] [weaves] a shield that stops the spears. The [King|King of Ghealdan (TV)] finally stops at a well on a parapet and [Logain|Logain (TV)] is not far away. The [King|King of Ghealdan (TV)] says that [Logain|Logain (TV)] will never wear the crown, but [Logain|Logain (TV)] says he doesn't want it. The [King|King of Ghealdan (TV)] is amazed that [Logain|Logain (TV)] believes that he is the Dragon Reborn and tells [Logain|Logain (TV)] that the [Aes Sedai] are coming for him. [Logain|Logain (TV)] says that the [Aes Sedai] should be following him instead. A [female shadow voice|Elusha Salid (TV)] tells [Logain|Logain (TV)] to kill the [King|King of Ghealdan (TV)], but he ignores her. The [King|King of Ghealdan (TV)] tries to stab [Logain|Logain (TV)], but [Logain|Logain (TV)] stops the dagger with a [weave] and proceeds to [Heal|Weave] the [King|King of Ghealdan (TV)]'s shoulder wound, even with shadow voices whispering that the [King|King of Ghealdan (TV)] is not to be trusted. [Logain|Logain (TV)] tells the [King|King of Ghealdan (TV)] that there's room for anyone on his side, even his enemies. ! Scene 5 - Finally Healed [Nynaeve|Nynaeve (TV)] is on a ridge overlooking the [Aes Sedai] camp, watching the activity below. Inside a tent, [Kerene|Kerene (TV)] is [healing|weaves] [Moiraine|Moiraine (TV)]. [Moiraine|Moiraine (TV)] is amazed that the healing has exhausted [Kerene|Kerene (TV)]. [Kerene|Kerene (TV)] explains that it's not the [healing|weaves], but the effort to keep [Logain|Logain (TV)] shielded that is exhausting. [Moiraine|Moiraine (TV)] says that she want to meet [Logain|Logain (TV)]. ! Scene 6 - Logain's Cave [Kerene|Kerene (TV)] leads [Moiraine|Moiraine (TV)] to the cave where [Logain|Logain (TV)] is being kept. [Kerene|Kerene (TV)] explains that only [Alanna|Alanna (TV)], [Liandrin|Liandrin (TV)] and herself are strong enough to keep [Logain|Logain (TV)] shielded and they have to work in pairs. Right now, [Alanna|Alanna (TV)] and [Liandrin|Liandrin (TV)] have paired up. [Logain|Logain (TV)] is sitting in a cage with his eyes closed. [Moiraine|Moiraine (TV)] says she heard that [Logain|Logain (TV)] had conquered half of [Ghealdan] and had the [King|King of Ghealdan (TV)] on his side. [Liandrin|Liandrin (TV)] explains that they captured him in his own camp while he slept and then scared his army away by [weaving|weaves] lightning. [Kerene|Kerene (TV)] has set [wards|weaves] to give warnings if any of his followers approach. [Liandrin|Liandrin (TV)] says that he is mad, declared himself the Dragon Reborn and also tried to march on the [White Tower]. [Kerene|Kerene (TV)] reminds the others that the [Amyrlin Seat|Aes Sedai] commanded that they bring him to the [White Tower] for trial. [Kerene|Kerene (TV)] and [Moiraine|Moiraine (TV)] take over for [Alanna|Alanna (TV)] and [Liandrin|Liandrin (TV)]. [Moiraine|Moiraine (TV)] grunts at the effort to keep [Logain|Logain (TV)] [shielded|weaves]. [Liandrin|Liandrin (TV)] tells [Moiraine|Moiraine (TV)] that that's half his power. ! Scene 7 - Barely Company [Lan|Lan (TV)] and [Stepin|Stepin (TV)] are practicing with their weapons. [Lan|Lan (TV)] asks about the [White Tower]. [Stepin|Stepin (TV)] mentions that the [Amyrlin Seat|Aes Sedai] is still annoyed with [Moiraine|Moiraine (TV)]. Looking over at [Nynaeve|Nynaeve (TV)], [Stepin|Stepin (TV)] questions [Lan|Lan (TV)]'s choice in traveling companions. [Lan|Lan (TV)] corrects him, saying that she's barely company. [Stepin|Stepin (TV)] sees [Kerene|Kerene (TV)] approaching and walks over to talk with her. ! Scene 8 - Imagine Their Dinners [Stepin|Stepin (TV)] and [Kerene|Kerene (TV)] are in their tent and talking about her relationship with [Moiraine|Moiraine (TV)]. [Kerene|Kerene (TV)] mentions how tight-lipped [Moiraine|Moiraine (TV)] can be and [Stepin|Stepin (TV)] says the same thing can be said about [Lan|Lan (TV)]. The both chuckle over the thought of [Moiraine|Moiraine (TV)] and [Lan|Lan (TV)]'s dinners together. [Stepin|Stepin (TV)] mentions that [Liandrin|Liandrin (TV)] has been talking to the other [Aes Sedai] and the rumors of the [Red Ajah] gentling men across the countryside. [Kerene|Kerene (TV)] is confident that [Liandrin|Liandrin (TV)] won't disobey the [Amyrlin Seat|Aes Sedai]'s order of bringing [Logain|Logain (TV)] to the [White Tower] for a trial. ! Scene 9 - Not Very Good Bandits [Egwene|Egwene (TV)] and [Perrin|Perrin (TV)] talk about how they do not trust the [Tinkers] and agree that if either of them want to leave, they both would, no questions asked. [Aram|Aram (TV)] walks up and tells them that the [Tinkers] are headed east to [Tar Valon] and that they are welcome to join them. [Aram|Aram (TV)] says that it's not often they find people from the [Mountains of Mist], but [Egwene|Egwene (TV)] replies that she and [Perrin|Perrin (TV)] are from [Whitebridge]. [Aram|Aram (TV)] does not seem to believe that. [Ila|Ila (TV)] bangs a pot with a stick and others follow suit, indicating that the caravan is moving on. [Egwene|Egwene (TV)] and [Perrin|Perrin (TV)] join the caravan. ! Scene 10 - That Would Be Smart [Thom|Thom (TV)], [Mat|Mat (TV)] and [Rand|Rand (TV)] and riding horses through some trees. [Thom|Thom (TV)] thinks he sees a farm ahead, so he rides a bit faster but [Mat|Mat (TV)] and [Rand|Rand (TV)] stop for a moment. [Mat|Mat (TV)] is having trouble with his horse.[1] [Mat|Mat (TV)] and [Rand|Rand (TV)] talk about [Thom|Thom (TV)]'s trustworthiness. [Rand|Rand (TV)] wonders if [Thom|Thom (TV)] killed [Dana|Dana (TV)] just to get them to trust him more. [Mat|Mat (TV)] reminds [Rand|Rand (TV)] that [Dana|Dana (TV)] mentioned that there were five of them that could be the Dragon Reborn. [Mat|Mat (TV)] wonders who the fifth person would be.[2] ! Scene 11 - Holding a Cat in the Bath [Alanna|Alanna (TV)] and [Moiraine|Moiraine (TV)] are in the cave, maintaining the [shield|weaves] on [Logain|Logain (TV)]. [Moiraine|Moiraine (TV)] knew that women could not see men's [weaves] and tries to explain the experience itself, but can't. [Alanna|Alanna (TV)] says it's like holding a cat in the bath. [Moiraine|Moiraine (TV)] surmises that [Kerene|Kerene (TV)] is using [Alanna|Alanna (TV)] to get information from her. [Moiraine|Moiraine (TV)] says that [Alanna|Alanna (TV)] could have been [Blue Ajah], but [Alanna|Alanna (TV)] says that one [Warder] would never have been enough. [Alanna|Alanna (TV)] says that when she picked the "Battle Ajah", the [Green Ajah], she never thought that she would see the Last Battle. She also says that she's never seen any [False Dragon] with so much strength. She believes that the end of this [Age|Wheel of Time] is near. She's also worried that the Dragon Reborn might be needed at the Last Battle, but the [Red Ajah] may have, or will have, gentled him before that time. [Logain|Logain (TV)] pushes against the [shield|weaves], but [Alanna|Alanna (TV)] and [Moiraine|Moiraine (TV)] clamp down on it. ! Scene 12 - Lunch With Liandrin [Nynaeve|Nynaeve (TV)] is still on a ridge overlooking the [Aes Sedai] camp, eating her lunch. [Liandrin|Liandrin (TV)] comes over, mispronounces her name, and says it's because she can't identify her accent, but that's because she's never heard [Nynaeve|Nynaeve (TV)] speak. [Nynaeve|Nynaeve (TV)] guesses that [Liandrin|Liandrin (TV)] is there to ask her questions, so she says that first she'll ask [Liandrin|Liandrin (TV)] questions and then maybe answer [Liandrin|Liandrin (TV)]'s questions. Her first question is "How long have you known [Moiraine|Moiraine (TV)]." [Liandrin|Liandrin (TV)] smiles. ! Scene 13 - Meet The Grinwells [Thom|Thom (TV)], [Mat|Mat (TV)] and [Rand|Rand (TV)] have dismounted and are scouting a farm. [Thom|Thom (TV)] says that they'll wait until dark to sneak into the barn, sleep the night, and then be away before they're discovered. [Mat|Mat (TV)]'s horse is still acting spooked. [Master Grinwell|Master Grinwell (TV)] appears with a drawn bow. [Rand|Rand (TV)] explains that they just wanted to sleep the night there. He surmises that [Master Grinwell|Master Grinwell (TV)] doesn't want to kill them because he's holding his bow wrong. [Master Grinwell|Master Grinwell (TV)] calls out to his wife to ask her what she thinks. She and her son are standing behind [Thom|Thom (TV)], [Mat|Mat (TV)] and [Rand|Rand (TV)] with their bows drawn. [Mistress Grinwell|Mistress Grinwell (TV)] says that the three can stay in there after they [muck|https://www.wikihow.com/Muck-Out-a-Stall] the stalls. ! Scene 14 - A Snake [Liandrin|Liandrin (TV)] is telling [Nynaeve|Nynaeve (TV)] about [Moiraine|Moiraine (TV)] choosing the [Blue Ajah] and the purpose of the [Red Ajah] ("to protect the world from people who would misuse the [One Power]"). [Lan|Lan (TV)] comes up and asks if he can join, to which [Liandrin|Liandrin (TV)] replies that she's just leaving. She invites [Nynaeve|Nynaeve (TV)] to the [Red Ajah] tent, which is open to all women. After she leaves, [Nynaeve|Nynaeve (TV)] tells [Lan|Lan (TV)] that [Liandrin|Liandrin (TV)] is a snake. She asks [Lan|Lan (TV)] if the [White Tower] is full of women like that, to which [Lan|Lan (TV)] replies that she'll have a chance to find out. He reminds her that [Moiraine|Moiraine (TV)] and he promised to help find their friends when they got to the [White Tower]. [Lan|Lan (TV)] leaves, but as he's walking away, he invites her to the [Warder]'s fire, as long as she doesn't shove anyone into it. ! Scene 15 - The Way of the Leaf [Ila|Ila (TV)] explains that the [Tinkers] follow the Way of the Leaf and have done so for thousands of years. They forswear all violence and all instruments of it. If they are attacked, they run if they can and endure if they can't. Rebirth through the turning of the [Wheel|Wheel of Time] plays a big part. She asks [Perrin|Perrin (TV)] if he's used a weapon such as an axe and whether his life was better or worse because of it. ! Scene 16 - Mucking Out the Stables [Mat|Mat (TV)] and [Rand|Rand (TV)] are mucking out the stalls while [Thom|Thom (TV)] is sipping tea. [Mat|Mat (TV)] seemed tired and says he needs a break. ! Scene 17 - Birgitte [Mat|Mat (TV)] is leaning on a trough and vomiting. The blackness from [Shadar Logoth|Aridhol (City)] is on the ground and around his mouth. [Else Grinwell|Else Grinwell (TV)|Helga Grinwell (TV)] comes in, surprising [Mat|Mat (TV)]. [Mat|Mat (TV)] recovers. She says that her mother sent her to give them a load of bread for their work. [Mat|Mat (TV)] thanks her for the bread. He then talks about his sisters, who are home with their parents. [Else|Else Grinwell (TV)|Helga Grinwell (TV)] then give him a doll to give to his sisters, that she named [Birgitte|Birgitte (TV)], who protects her when everyone else is asleep. She says that [Birgitte|Birgitte (TV)] has always wanted to see the world.[3] ! Scene 18 - Owyn [Thom|Thom (TV)] tells [Rand|Rand (TV)] the story of his nephew [Owyn|Oywn (TV)]. He was a troublemaker, but then one day he went sour. No one knew what happened until one day he threw a rock without using his hands (implying that he was [channeling|One Power]. [Thom|Thom (TV)] says that [Mat|Mat (TV)] has the same symptoms. The [Red Ajah] found [Owyn|Oywn (TV)] while [Thom|Thom (TV)] was away and [gentled|stilling] him. [Owyn|Oywn (TV)] lost the will to live and eventually committed suicide. [Thom|Thom (TV)] tells [Rand|Rand (TV)] that they have to keep [Mat|Mat (TV)] away from the [Red Ajah]. ! Scene 19 - Guarding Logain [Moiraine|Moiraine (TV)] and [Kerene|Kerene (TV)] are maintaining the [shield|weaves] on [Logain|Logain (TV)]. ! Scene 20 - The Warders' Fire [Lan|Lan (TV)], [Stepin|Stepin (TV)], [Ihvon|Ihvon (TV)], [Maksim|Maksim (TV)] and [Nynaeve|Nynaeve (TV)] are sitting around a campfire. [Stepin|Stepin (TV)] is telling a story about [Lan|Lan (TV)] and calls him al'Lan Mandragoran. [Stepin|Stepin (TV)] asks [Nynaeve|Nynaeve (TV)] how she got stuck with him, and she says that she tracked him.[4] She says that the [warders] are more fun than they seem, but they still serve the [Aes Sedai]. [Maksim|Maksim (TV)] says that they do not. [Stepin|Stepin (TV)] explains that the bond between [warder] and [Aes Sedai] is stronger than any other bond. He explains that in the [Old Tongue], "Aes Sedai" means "Servants of All", which means they serve the world. [Nynaeve|Nynaeve (TV)] then asks what does that make the [warders]. [Lan|Lan (TV)] replies "Proud." [Alanna|Alanna (TV)] stops by the fire and [Ihvon|Ihvon (TV)] and [Maksim|Maksim (TV)] stand up and leave with her. [Nynaeve|Nynaeve (TV)] asks "the three of them don't..." and [Stepin|Stepin (TV)] chuckles. [Lan|Lan (TV)] says he's feeling tired and leaves the fire. ! Scene 21 - Terrifying or Comforting? [Lan|Lan (TV)] enters [Moiraine|Moiraine (TV)]'s tent, where she is sitting on the bed. [Lan|Lan (TV)], remarking on [Logain|Logain (TV)], says that he's at least ten years too old. [Moiraine|Moiraine (TV)] doesn't know if he's stronger than [Egwene|Egwene (TV)]. She thinks that the [Dark One|Shaitan] doesn't know who the Dragon Reborn is either. [Moiraine|Moiraine (TV)] is unhappy that they've lost [Rand|Rand (TV)], [Mat|Mat (TV)], [Egwene|Egwene (TV)] and [Perrin|Perrin (TV)] after hunting for them for twenty years and then just finding them. She holds [Lan|Lan (TV)]'s hand and he remarks that she always gets emotional after he drinks.[5] ! Scene 22 - Finding the Song There are drummers playing at the [Tinker]'s camp and many people, including [Egwene|Egwene (TV)], are dancing. [Perrin|Perrin (TV)] is standing at the side but soon leaves. [Egwene|Egwene (TV)] and [Aram|Aram (TV)] end up dancing together. She asks him about the Song. [Aram|Aram (TV)] explains that in the last [Age|Wheel of Time] the [Tinkers] knew a song that brought harmony to the world, but it was lost in the [Breaking|Wheel of Time].[6] If they can find it again, there will be peace and happiness in the world. Looking around at everyone dancing, [Egwene|Egwene (TV)] asks [Aram|Aram (TV)] if he's not sure that they've already found it. ! Scene 23 - What Greater Revenge? [Perrin|Perrin (TV)] is fixing a wagon axle. [Ila|Ila (TV)] notes that he finds peace in his work. [Perrin|Perrin (TV)] see a [Tinker], [Sarai|Sarai (TV)], with some scars on her face and says that not all the [Tinkers] look peaceful. [Ila|Ila (TV)] says that [Sarai|Sarai (TV)] was a hired killer who renounced violence. [Ila|Ila (TV)] goes into detail about the Way of the Leaf. The only way to end violence is for everyone, everywhere to stop. She acknowledges that this will take time. If she changes just two people's minds, then she's left the world a better place. She tells the story of her daughter's death and explains that she's doing this for results in a different [Age|Wheel of Time]. ! Scene 24 - The Leaf Doesn't Fight the Wind [Egwene|Egwene (TV)] and [Aram|Aram (TV)] are sitting together away from the crowd. [Aram|Aram (TV)] talks about [Tinkers] leaving the wagons when they are twenty, to see if they really want to remain [Tinkers]. Some farm, some set sail and some take up arms.[7] Most, but not all, come back to the wagons. ! Scene 25 - No Matter What Happens [Mat|Mat (TV)] and [Rand|Rand (TV)] are sleeping in the barn. [Rand|Rand (TV)] sits up and reminds [Mat|Mat (TV)] that he's here for [Mat|Mat (TV)] no matter what happens. ! Scene 26 - Dreamland [Rand|Rand (TV)] is in a dream world.[8] [Perrin|Perrin (TV)] is hammering on a covered body. [Mat|Mat (TV)] walks by with blood covered hands. [Egwene|Egwene (TV)] calls out to [Rand|Rand (TV)] but then the man with the burning eyes and mouth comes up from behind and grabs [Egwene|Egwene (TV)]. [Rand|Rand (TV)] wakes up. [Thom|Thom (TV)] is right there to reassure him. Horses are neighing, sheep are bleating and [Mat|Mat (TV)] is gone. !
