One of six bridges begins in [Darein] and crosses the River [Erinin River] to [Tar Valon]. [Verin|Verin Mathwin] stops to talk to the guard. He says the [Whitecloaks|Children of the Light] have tried to take over some of the outlying villages such as [Eldone Market]. [Verin|Verin Mathwin] covers her face as they cross the bridge.[1] After they cross the bridge, [Hurin] bids farewell saying he must take the news of what really happened at [Falme] to Lord [Agelmar|Agelmar Jagad] and King [Easar|Easar Togita]. 

At the [White Tower], [Verin|Verin Mathwin] talks to a guard who quickly leaves. Two men arrive with a stretcher and take [Mat|Matrim Cauthon] away. [Sheriam|Sheriam Bayanar] arrives with three [Accepted]. %%blue [Sheriam|Sheriam Bayanar]%% says most everyone already knows they are back. [Verin|Verin Mathwin] says she must see the [Amyrlin|Aes Sedai] immediately and the girls by closely held until the [Amyrlin|Aes Sedai] is ready for them. [Sheriam|Sheriam Bayanar] scolds the girls and orders three [Accepted], [Faolain|Faolain Orande], [Theodrin|Theodrin Dabei] and a "pretty, apple-cheeked [Accepted]"[2] to take them to their rooms and guard them. [Faolain|Faolain Orande] takes [Egwene|Egwene alVere], [Theodrin|Theodrin Dabei] takes [Nynaeve|Nynaeve alMeara] and the third [Accepted] takes [Elayne|Elayne Trakand].
