The farms they pass are abandoned; all the people have gone to the keep. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara]'s eyes are sharper than they used to be. [Loial] comments that [Ogier] Elders, including [Arent] and [Haman], talk about their meetings with the [Green Man|Someshta].[1] [Rand|Rand alThor] talks with [Egwene|Egwene alVere] and recalls [Min|Min Farshaw]'s [viewing|viewings] that they are not for each other. As they enter [Fal Dara], men greet [Lan|al'Lan Mandragoran] as [Dai Shan|Compleat], a title meaning diademed battle lord. They greet [Loial] with, "%%ot [Kiserai ti Wansho|Compleat] %%" ("Glory to the Builders")! [Loial] replies "%%ot [Tsingu ma choba|Old Tongue]%%" ("I am unworthy and the work is small"). A man [Lan|al'Lan Mandragoran] recognizes as [Ragan] asks him if the [Golden Crane|Malkier] will fly again.[2] [Ingtar|Ingtar Shinowa] greets them. He tells [Lan|al'Lan Mandragoran] there are lots of new [Trolloc|Trollocs] camps in the [Blight], but they will stop them at [Tarwin's Gap|Tarwins Gap]. He takes them to [Agelmar|Agelmar Jagad], then leaves. [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred] greets him with, "%%ot [Ninte calichniye no domashita,|Compleat]%% %%ot [Agelmar|Agelmar Jagad]%% %%ot [Dai Shan|Compleat]%%" ("Your welcome warms me, Lord [Agelmar|Agelmar Jagad])." [Agelmar|Agelmar Jagad] replies, "%%ot [Kodome calichniye ga ni Aes Sedai hei|Compleat]%%" ("Here is always a welcome for [Aes Sedai])." [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred] says they must leave the next morning and tells him about the [Eye of the World]. [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred] has found the [Green Man|Someshta] before.[3] They eat dinner. [Ingtar|Ingtar Shinowa] returns with news that a strange man was captured trying to enter the keep. It is [Padan Fain]. He says he was compelled by [Ba'alzamon|Ishamael] to hunt and follow. He sounds strange and offers to advise [Agelmar|Agelmar Jagad] on how to defeat the [Dark One|ShaiTan].[4] [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred] wants to question him immediately.
