They have been on [Toman Head] for three days looking for [Fain|Padan Fain]'s trail. They are still two days from [Falme]. [Verin|Verin Mathwin] is completely lost in thought. [Uno|Uno Nomesta] curses the weather. At a village, [Atuan's Mill|Atuans Mill], they learned about the [Seanchan|Seanchan (People)]. The [Seanchan|Seanchan (People)] murdered many of the villagers. They wonder why [Fain|Padan Fain] brought the [Horn|Horn of Valere] to [Falme]. [Masema|Masema Dagar] reports another deserted village ahead. They enter the inn and [Ragan] stables the horses. [Ingtar|Ingtar Shinowa] and [Verin|Verin Mathwin] argue. [Verin|Verin Mathwin] is certain [Fain|Padan Fain] is in [Falme]. [Verin|Verin Mathwin] wants to head to [Falme] while [Ingtar|Ingtar Shinowa] wants to quarter the area for [Fain|Padan Fain]'s trail. [Rand|Rand alThor] feels pulled to [Falme]. He goes upstairs to sleep. He rolls over and sees [Ba'alzamon|Ishamael] holding the [Dragon Banner].[1] He stands in a cloud of darkness. He burns are nearly healed. [Ba'alzamon|Ishamael] says he has faced [Rand|Rand alThor] a thousand times. [Rand|Rand alThor] [channels|True Source] at him but the [One Power] sinks into the black mist and vanishes.[2] [Ba'alzamon|Ishamael] again offers to teach [Rand|Rand alThor]. When [Rand|Rand alThor] looks again, [Ba'alzamon|Ishamael] is gone, his saddlebag is re-buckled, but there are burn marks on a chair where [Ba'alzamon|Ishamael] grasped it.
