[Rand|Rand alThor] rides [Tai'daishar] through a gateway into [Bandar Eban] accompanied by his retinue including [Min|Min Farshaw], [Merise|Merise Haindehl], [Corele|Corele Hovian], [Alivia], [Narishma|Jahar Narishma] and several [Wise Ones|Aiel]. He runs through the list of women who died for him: [Moiraine Damodred], [Colavaere Saighan], [Liah], [Sendara], [Lamelle], [Andhilin], [Jendhilin]. [Lews Therin|Lews Therin Telamon] adds [Ilyena|Ilyena Therin Moerelle], then he adds [Min|Min Farshaw]. [Rand|Rand alThor] furiously thinks that she still lives and that was [Semirhage]'s work anyway. Thinking of [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred], [Rand|Rand alThor] wonders if [Lanfear] is back like [Ishamael].[1] He hopes he will find [Graendal], as [Asmodean] said she was in [Arad Doman]. 

[Rand|Rand alThor] rides into a square to meet [Dobraine|Dobraine Taborwin] who presents him with the restored city. He tells [Rand|Rand alThor] that he has one of the merchant council, [Milisair Chadmar]. [Rand|Rand alThor] wonders if he trusts [Dobraine|Dobraine Taborwin]. He knows [Rand|Rand alThor] intends the [Sun Throne|Sun Palace] for [Elayne|Elayne Trakand]. [Rand|Rand alThor] adds [Semirhage] and [Elza|Elza Penfell] to his list even though they do not deserve it. He has the [access key|Control Statues] with him, found in [Cadsuane|Cadsuane Melaidhrin]'s apartment. There are only a few [Sea Folk] rakers in the port. 

They ride through the city to [Arandi Square|Bandar Eban] at the center then east to [Milisair|Milisair Chadmar]'s palace. [Rand|Rand alThor] wonders about the strange power that he tapped when his %%ot [ta'veren|Wheel of Time]%% turns unusually violent. There are many [Aiel] around the palace and [Rand|Rand alThor] wonders about [Aviendha], now far to the east.[2] 

Inside, a couple of [Maidens|Maidens of the Spear], [Beralna] and [Riallin], direct him to the second floor. [Rhuarc] joins him. [Rand|Rand alThor] tells [Dobraine|Dobraine Taborwin] he is sending him and his armsmen to [Tear|Tear (Country)] to tell [Darlin|Darlin Sisnera] to stop sending messages. [Rand|Rand alThor] will summon him in his time, after he meets with the [Daughter of the Nine Moons|Tuon]. [Rand|Rand alThor] then summons [Milisair|Milisair Chadmar] to him and asks her about King [Alsalam|Alsalam Saeed Almadar]. She is extremely nervous when he demands that she produce the last messenger from the king.[3] [Rand|Rand alThor] then orders runners to bring scribes, stewards, [Rhuarc] and [Bael] to begin planning grain distribution. He plans to kill [Graendal] with balefire like [Semirhage].
