In the rebel [Aes Sedai] camp [Gawyn|Gawyn Trakand] remembers his father [Taringail|Taringail Damodred] with [Galad|Galad Damodred] warning him against pretty women and [Aes Sedai]. He is arguing, again, with [Lelaine|Lelaine Akashi] about trying to rescue [Egwene|Egwene alVere]. [Lelaine|Lelaine Akashi] says she is not in danger as [Elaida|Elaida do Avriny aRoihan] does not consider her a threat. Bullying [Bryne|Gareth Bryne] as not worked either. [Romanda|Romanda Cassin] gives him the same answer. [Lelaine|Lelaine Akashi] proceeds to question him about [Elayne|Elayne Trakand]'s policy on taxing House [Traemane|Andor]. [Gawyn|Gawyn Trakand] has no idea why.[1] 

[Gawyn|Gawyn Trakand] rides [Challenge] to an army camp outpost to meet [Bryne|Gareth Bryne]. They discuss the [Younglings] and [Gawyn|Gawyn Trakand] refuses to betray them. [Gawyn|Gawyn Trakand] still thinks [Rand|Rand alThor] is a monster who must be killed.[2] [Bryne|Gareth Bryne] asks [Gawyn|Gawyn Trakand] if he understands his true allegiances. Whom does he serve? [Bryne|Gareth Bryne] was not sure himself when he was a captain in the [Aiel War], but [Laman|Laman Damodred] got what he deserved. He then served [Morgase|Morgase Trakand] but she failed him. He now serves the rebels because it is the right thing to do. [Gawyn|Gawyn Trakand] feels that something bad is coming, but he does not understand the different sides and does not know what to do.
