[Rand|Rand alThor] rides [Tai'daishar] along the streets of [Bandar Eban] with [Min|Min Farshaw] preparing to leave [Bandar Eban] for [Tear|Tear (Country)]. [Flinn|Damer Flinn] and [Naeff|naeff] lead the way. [Lews Therin|Lews Therin Telamon] cries that he cannot continue the list because they do not know the names of the women killed when he balefired [Graendal]. [Rand|Rand alThor] thinks he has failed in [Arad Doman]. In other nations he brought stability but [Arad Doman] will be trampled by the [Seanchan|Seanchan (People)] and the [Last Battle|Creator]. He could not locate enough members of the [Council of Merchants|Arad Doman] to elect a new king. [Bashere|Davram Bashere] reports that [Milisair Chadmar] and the other four[1] were returned to their palaces. [Bashere|Davram Bashere] reports that [Ituralde|Rodel Ituralde] has had skirmishes with [Shadowspawn]. They are massing in the [Blight] so they are probably in [Tarwin's Gap|Tarwins Gap] as well. [Rand|Rand alThor] thinks that he must deal with the [Borderlanders|Borderlands] next. They reach the city square and at [Rand|Rand alThor]'s signal [Flinn|Damer Flinn] and [Naeff|naeff] open gateways. 

As [Rand|Rand alThor] starts through a gateway, one of the dockmasters, [Iralin], runs up. He reports that all the food has spoiled. All of it.[2] [Bandar Eban] will starve. [Rand|Rand alThor] can do nothing more so he rides through the gateway to [Feaster's Run|Tear (City)], a main city square in [Tear|Tear (Country)] where the people cheer him. The [Aes Sedai],[3] [Aiel] and [Saldaeans|Saldaea] follow through the gateway. [Cadsuane|Cadsuane Melaidhrin] and [Nynaeve|Nynaeve alMeara] were not in the manor when [Rand|Rand alThor] announced his departure but he is sure they will follow. [Rand|Rand alThor] will hide no more. He does not have time, with [Lan|al'Lan Mandragoran] and the [Malkier] riding to [Tarwin's Gap|Tarwins Gap]. 

[Rand|Rand alThor] brings up the [Borderlanders|Borderlands]. [Bashere|Davram Bashere] has no idea why [Tenobia|Tenobia si Bashere Kazadi] and the others would leave the [Blight] undefended. They arrive at the [Stone of Tear] where King [Darlin|Darlin Sisnera] and [Dobraine|Dobraine Taborwin] lead the welcoming delegation. [Weiramon|Weiramon Saniago] is also there. [Lews Therin|Lews Therin Telamon] thinks that he likes [Weiramon|Weiramon Saniago] because he is loyal and honest.[4] Lady [Caraline|Caraline Damodred] is with [Darlin|Darlin Sisnera]. She reminds [Rand|Rand alThor] too much of [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred] so [Lews Therin|Lews Therin Telamon] begins chanting the list. All the other High Lords and Ladies are there, [Anaiyella|Anaiyella Narencelona], [Torean|Torean Andiama], [Simaan], [Estanda], [Tedosian], [Hearne]. [Alanna|Alanna Mosvani] is there as well. [Darlin|Darlin Sisnera] reports that the army is ready for [Arad Doman]. [Rand|Rand alThor] replies that they can no longer help [Arad Doman]. They will march to [Shayol Ghul].
