After [Mat|Matrim Cauthon] leaves, [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] continues to pack. His shoulder is badly bruised from a [Trolloc|Trollocs]'s axe earlier in the evening, but [Faile|Zarine Bashere] saved him from much worse. He plans to talk to [Loial] first thing in the morning. [Berelain|Berelain sur Paendrag] enters without knocking. She tells him tonight convinced her. She is leaving for [Godan], then [Mayene] in the morning. She expects him to take the message to [Rand|Rand alThor] for her[1] but he refuses. He tells her he is leaving tomorrow for the [Two Rivers]. She flirts with him and continues when [Faile|Zarine Bashere] enters the room. [Berelain|Berelain sur Paendrag] leaves. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] tells [Faile|Zarine Bashere] that he and [Loial] are going alone and plan to take the [Ways]. He hopes [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred] does not find out, but he will leave anyway. [Faile|Zarine Bashere] gets angry about him wanting to go without her. Painfully, [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] flaunts [Berelain|Berelain sur Paendrag] at her. Even angrier, she leaves. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] is full of grief, but he wants [Faile|Zarine Bashere] away from him because he expects to die.

! __Faile__ POV

[Faile|Zarine Bashere] runs after [Berelain|Berelain sur Paendrag] and confronts her. [Faile|Zarine Bashere] pulls a knife, but [Berelain|Berelain sur Paendrag] throws her to the floor. [Berelain|Berelain sur Paendrag] says she will take [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] and gives [Ogier]'s oath on it. [Faile|Zarine Bashere] starts to attack again, but [Rhuarc] appears and breaks it up. He sends [Berelain|Berelain sur Paendrag] to her room with the threat of repeating their first conversation.[2] He then takes [Faile|Zarine Bashere]'s knives as punishment. As she walks away, [Faile|Zarine Bashere] recalls [Berelain|Berelain sur Paendrag] saying, "[Ogier]'s oath." She is happy, because that gives her the key to making [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] hers.[3]
