[Elayne|Elayne Trakand], [Birgitte|Birgitte Trahelion] and [Dyelin|Dyelin Taravin] discuss an outrageous proposal from [Ellorien|Ellorien Traemane] to free the prisoners.[1] [Jarid Sarand] is still loose. [Melfane|Melfane Dawlish] has warned [Elayne|Elayne Trakand] not to tax herself. The [Windfinders|Sea Folk] are asking after the land they were promised. [Elayne|Elayne Trakand] thinks it is time to make her claim on [Cairhien|Cairhien (Country)]. 

[Norry|Halwin Norry] knocks then enters. He has a report from [Hark|Samwil Hark] that %%red [Duhara|Duhara Basaheen]%% in staying at [The Greeting Hall] and has been calling on [Ellorien|Ellorien Traemane]. She is [Elaida|Elaida do Avriny aRoihan]'s emissary.[2] [Elayne|Elayne Trakand] and [Dyelin|Dyelin Taravin] reason that [Duhara|Duhara Basaheen] wanted to be seen. Her visits to [Elayne|Elayne Trakand]'s enemy are a warning. More mercenary bands keep arriving and [Elayne|Elayne Trakand] wants to keep them for the [Last Battle|Creator]. 

[Norry|Halwin Norry] reluctantly gives her a letter that might be important. It is [Mat|Matrim Cauthon]'s second letter and she and [Birgitte|Birgitte Trahelion] have a good laugh. [Thom|Thom Merrilin] is safe with [Mat|Matrim Cauthon] but they wonder about [Olver]. They are a little concerned about the [Band of the Red Hand] and their loyalty. They most recently worked for the king of [Murandy].[3] They wonder what he wants with bellfounders.[4] [Dyelin|Dyelin Taravin] is totally confused so they explain who [Mat|Matrim Cauthon] is. 

[Elayne|Elayne Trakand] wonders about [Rand|Rand alThor]. He is still far to the west, probably [Arad Doman], and is always full of cold anger. She wonders what will happen to [Andor] if [Rand|Rand alThor] dies. It will be boxed between the [Seanchan|Seanchan (People)] to the southwest, the remainders of [Rand|Rand alThor]'s empire to the southeast, possibly lead by someone like [Darlin|Darlin Sisnera], and the [Borderlanders|Borderlands] to the north. She must hold [Cairhien|Cairhien (Country)] to protect both nations. She will set up a meeting with [Sumeko|Sumeko Karistovan] and [Alise|Alise Tenjile] to discuss [Traveling|Weaves#t] and the future of the [Kin].
