[Perrin|Perrin Aybara] sends the [Maidens|Maidens of the Spear] out to scout but [Sulin] says they will be unhappy if they miss the chance to dance the spears. [Dannil|Dannil Lewin], [Gaul], [Azi al'Thone] and [Wil al'Seen] ride with [Perrin|Perrin Aybara]. He still smells something wrong on the wind. There is tension between [Arganda|Gerard Arganda], [Gallenne|Bertain Gallenne] and the other army forces. He tells [Dannil|Dannil Lewin] that he knows [Faile|Zarine Bashere] cooked up some sort of plot to rescue him and [Dannil|Dannil Lewin] admits to it. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] warns him not to act before his signal. [Neald|Fager Neald] and [Gaul] have been scouting and determined that [Traveling|Weaves#t] works far away from their camp. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] is certain this is connected to the dome in the [wolf dream|TelAranRhiod]. [Slayer|Isam Mandragoran] put the dome in place and is guarding it to keep [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] trapped. He wishes [Elyas|Elyas Machera] would return from his special scouting mission. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] mounts [Stepper] to meet [Galad|Galad Damodred] and the [Whitecloaks|Children of the Light] for his trial.

[Faile|Zarine Bashere] passes [Flann Barstere], [Jon Gaelin] and [Marek Cormer] readying their bows. They no longer believe that [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] dallied with [Berelain|Berelain sur Paendrag]. She readies herself and a groom brings [Daylight]. She still misses [Swallow]. She joins [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] at the front of the army. [Bain] and [Chiad] bring fresh weapons for [Gaul]. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] tells her that the [Last Battle|Creator] is coming. He needs to go to [Rand|Rand alThor] but he feels like he is being herded.[1] He has the [Maidens|Maidens of the Spear] and [Elyas|Elyas Machera] out scouting. They ride down the [Jehannah Road] to meet the [Whitecloaks|Children of the Light]. They find a pavilion where [Morgase|Morgase Trakand] sits on an elevated chair. [Berelain|Berelain sur Paendrag] stares at [Galad|Galad Damodred] as they approach. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] thinks he should abide by [Morgase|Morgase Trakand]'s judgment but [Faile|Zarine Bashere] tells him his duty to [Rand|Rand alThor], the [Last Battle|Creator] and he is stronger.

[Neald|Fager Neald], [Dannil|Dannil Lewin] and [Grady|Jur Grady] join [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] in the pavilion. [Rowan Hurn] goes to make sure the captives were released. [Faile|Zarine Bashere] sits next to [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] with [Berelain|Berelain sur Paendrag] and [Alliandre|Alliandre Maritha Kigarin] nearby. The [Aes Sedai] and [Wise Ones|Aiel] stand behind them.[2] [Galad|Galad Damodred], [Bornhald|Dain Bornhald] and [Byar|Jaret Byar] sit on the opposite side. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] is charged with murdering [Lathin] and [Yamwick]. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] admits to killing them but says it was not murder. [Byar|Jaret Byar] tells the story of them arriving at the %%ot [stedding|Steddings]%% and finding the remains of a camp and then seeing wolves. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] remembers images and scents of [Egwene|Egwene alVere], [Bela] and [Dapple]. [Hopper] killing [Lathin]. A second [Whitecloak|Children of the Light][3] corroborates [Byar|Jaret Byar]'s story. It is then [Perrin|Perrin Aybara]'s turn and he admits that their story is true. He says he can speak with wolves and that he lost himself when the [Whitecloaks|Children of the Light] killed his friends. [Bornhald|Dain Bornhald] then accuses [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] of murdering his father. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] responds that the [Horn of Valere] had been blown and he rode along with [Hawkwing|Artur Hawkwing] on the same side as [Geofram Bornhald] against the [Seanchan|Seanchan (People)]. [Galad|Galad Damodred] then questions [Byar|Jaret Byar] as to how he knew that [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] killed [Bornhald|Geofram Bornhald] but [Byar|Jaret Byar] is adamant.[4] [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] then challenges [Byar|Jaret Byar] that he offered to let [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] and [Egwene|Egwene alVere] escape so he could murder them. [Morgase|Morgase Trakand] asks if [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] is done with his defense and he concurs. She pronounces him guilty citing [Andoran|Andor] law. [Dannil|Dannil Lewin] and [Azi al'Thone] stand beside [Perrin|Perrin Aybara]. As to sentencing she cites the Kainec protocol. She rules that the altercation was a fight between unauthorized mercenary groups meaning there are no innocents. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] killed illegally but it was not murder. As [Galad|Galad Damodred] is the closest responsible for the men who were killed she gives [Perrin|Perrin Aybara]'s sentencing to him. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] agrees to abide by his sentence, but not until after the [Last Battle|Creator] is done. After deliberation [Galad|Galad Damodred] agrees. [Byar|Jaret Byar] vehemently objects.[4] [Galad|Galad Damodred] asks [Morgase|Morgase Trakand] to accompany him but she goes with [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] as he is returning to [Andor]. [Galad|Galad Damodred] does not tell [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] what his punishment will be.
