[Perrin|Perrin Aybara] rides [Stayer] as he and the others find their camp in disarray. The [Mayeners|Mayene] are in a standoff with the [Ghealdanin|Ghealdan]. [Berelain|Berelain sur Paendrag], [Gallenne|Bertain Gallenne] and [Annoura|Annoura Larisen] face [Alliandre|Alliandre Maritha Kigarin]'s First Captain, [Gerard Arganda]. [Berelain|Berelain sur Paendrag] tells [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] that [Faile|Zarine Bashere] and [Alliandre|Alliandre Maritha Kigarin] were captured by some [Aiel]. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] thinks this whole situation came from [Rand|Rand alThor]'s orders. [Elyas|Elyas Machera] and [Berelain|Berelain sur Paendrag] tell [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] to remain calm. [Elyas|Elyas Machera] and [Aram] head southeast to scout. The three [Warder][1] follow and [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] gives a grateful nod to [Masuri|Masuri Sokawa], [Seonid|Seonid Traighan], [Edarra] and [Carelle]. [Grady|Jur Grady] and [Neald|Fager Neald] keep watch and [Balwer|Sebban Balwer] listens intently. 

[Perrin|Perrin Aybara] calls to the wolves and contacts packs led by [Three Toes], [Cold Water], [Twilight] and [Springhorn]. There are too many different bands of two-legs around so the wolves cannot help. 

[Gerard Arganda] threatens to put the [Aiel] with [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] to the question. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] puts him in his place and tells him to wait with his men. [Berelain|Berelain sur Paendrag] caresses [Perrin|Perrin Aybara], then rides off with [Gallenne|Bertain Gallenne]. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] sees the four [Wise Ones|Aiel][2] who stayed behind watching the others. [Gaul] and the [Maidens|Maidens of the Spear] are nearby. [Dannil Lewin] rides up. He reports that he sent [Jondyn Barran], [Hu Marwin] and [Get Ayliah] out to scout. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] then asks [Gaul] to find [Faile|Zarine Bashere]. [Gaul] leads [Sulin] and the other [Maidens|Maidens of the Spear][3] away. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] belatedly realizes that [Bain] and [Chiad] would have been with [Faile|Zarine Bashere]. The [Wise Ones|Aiel] all go to their tent with [Seonid|Seonid Traighan] and [Masuri|Masuri Sokawa]. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] tells [Grady|Jur Grady] and [Neald|Fager Neald] to get packed then goes over to the [Wise Ones|Aiel]'s tent which is tied shut. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] is about ready to cut it open when [Nevarin|nevarin] comes out. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] asks her how the [Aiel] will treat [Faile|Zarine Bashere], but she does not know. She tells him to calm down and go away. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] walks back to his tent thinking that the [Wise Ones|Aiel] are probably plotting how to kill [Masema|Masema Dagar].[4] That makes him wonder where [Masema|Masema Dagar] is. [Balwer|Sebban Balwer] has disappeared. At his tent he sees [Basel Gill]  who flinches and hurries away.[5] [Lini|Lini Eltring] tells him to take care of himself. She confirms that [Maighdin|Morgase Trakand] was also with [Faile|Zarine Bashere]. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] promises to get all of them back. He goes to a nearby ridge where [Tallanvor|Martyn Tallanvor] is keeping watch. They do not speak, but together they watch as twilight falls and the gibbous moon rises.
