[Min|Min Farshaw] is with them. [Cadsuane|Cadsuane Melaidhrin] is angry, telling [Nynaeve|Nynaeve alMeara] that the Counsels are in a panic after detecting %%ot [saidar|Said]%% being used within the city. As they drag [Nynaeve|Nynaeve alMeara] away, [Cadsuane|Cadsuane Melaidhrin] says she will somehow help [Rand|Rand alThor] and [Lan|al'Lan Mandragoran].

That night, [Cadsuane|Cadsuane Melaidhrin] arrives at the [Hall of the Counsels] with [Merise|Merise Haindehl], [Corele|Corele Hovian], [Daigian|Daigian Moseneillin], [Kumira], [Eben|Eben Hopwil], [Damer|Damer Flinn], [Jahar|Jahar Narishma], [Nynaeve|Nynaeve alMeara], [Min|Min Farshaw] and [Alivia]. [Min|Min Farshaw] and [Nynaeve|Nynaeve alMeara] complain until [Cadsuane|Cadsuane Melaidhrin] puts them in their place. She wishes that [Nynaeve|Nynaeve alMeara] had been taught more, particularly about enduring what must be endured. [Cadsuane|Cadsuane Melaidhrin] learned that lesson in the [Black Hills] from a toothless [wilder] shortly after she was raised to the shawl.[1] 

[Cadsuane|Cadsuane Melaidhrin] barges into a closed meeting of the Counsels. She hopes that she can accomplish what she needs to without disrupting their government. [Cadsuane|Cadsuane Melaidhrin] asks [Aleis Barsalla] to release [Rand|Rand alThor], but she refuses saying she will wait to hear from [Tar Valon]. [Cadsuane|Cadsuane Melaidhrin] then notes that the three men with her are [Asha'man]. They step forward looking very fierce. The Counsels, particularly [Cyprien], [Sybaine] and [Cumere Powys], look abashed. [Aleis|Aleis Barsalla], however, still refuses. Resorting to her final weapon, [Cadsuane|Cadsuane Melaidhrin] reminds her that the [guardian] detected someone [channeling|True Source] inside the city, the she draws from her own Well, the [golden hummingbird|Paralis-net] in her hair, and lifts the crown from [Aleis|Aleis Barsalla]' head. [Nynaeve|Nynaeve alMeara] then sets it back on her head. [Aleis|Aleis Barsalla] is thoroughly shaken and agrees to release [Rand|Rand alThor]. Seeing the looks of the other Counsels, [Cadsuane|Cadsuane Melaidhrin] knows that [Aleis|Aleis Barsalla] is through as First Counsel. She adds that to the account she is building because of [Rand|Rand alThor].
