Women who begin to [channel|True Source] on their own without instruction are called wilders. Wilders often burn themselves out or die horribly if they are not found by the [White Tower] and taught. Many Aes Sedai do not like wilders. One of the reasons is that wilders tend to develop their own non-standard techniques that are very difficult to correct.
