Elayne POV#
Elayne, Nynaeve, Thom and Juilin travel east across Amadicia skirting around Amador. Twenty miles past the capital, they stay at the Bellon Ford Inn in Bellon on the Gaean River. Mistress Alfara is the innkeeper. Elayne masquerades as Lady Morelin. Nynaeve is her maid, Nana, and she hates it. As they continue east, they discuss what to do. Surely Ronde Macura sent news of their escape to Narenwin Barda, so they are suspicious of the White Tower. They come across a traveling menagerie. A yellow-haired woman tends three giant beasts.[1] The owner introduces himself as Valan Luca. He claims the "giant boar-horses" come from Shara. Elayne recalls seeing them in Falme with the Seanchan. He is on his way to Ghealdan. He admits that he needs money because of the damage the beasts caused in Sienda. Nynaeve gives him a silver penny[2] and tells Thom to drive on. They soon reach Sienda. One inn, The King's Lancer, has a hole where the door was, caused by the boar-horses when the menagerie was in town. The proprietor is Sim. There are lots of Whitecloaks. They stop at a second inn, The Light of Truth. The innkeeper is Mistress Jharen. They tell her they are returning to Lady Morelin's estate from a visit to Amador. After everyone is settled, Thom and Juilin go down to the common room to see what they can learn. Elayne and Nynaeve prepare for the night. Nynaeve will use the twisted ring to meet with Egwene and the Wise Ones in Tel'aran'rhiod. As Nynaeve goes to sleep, Elayne tells her to tell Egwene to tell Rand that she loves him.
