[Rand] passes by a [gleeman] in the [Foregate|Cairhien (City)] telling a story to a crowd about the [Hunt for the Horn]. As [Rand] continues through the Foregate, he also sees people getting branded with an image of the [Horn]. He sees [Selene] nearby and walks to her, asking what's going on. She tells him that people are gathering to be Hunters for the [Horn], but [Rand] doesn't know anything about the [Horn]. She explains that every few hundred years they call the [Hunt for the Horn] in [Illian|Illian (City)]. She explains that legends says that whoever finds it can summon an army of the dead. The Queen of [Cairhien (Country)] has promised half her fortune to whomever finds it and brings it back to [Cairhien (Country)].
[Rand] walks to a nearby table which has many bottles of wine on it. He tells [Selene] that he's looking for a bottle of [Ghealdanin|Ghealdan] red wine. When she asks why, he says that he think she likes a little mystery. [Selene] tells the bartender that she'll pay for the first glass for each of the hunters, but he should charge double once they start buying drinks for their friends.
[Selene] and [Rand] leave, with [Selene] saying that they need to find him a better coat.
In the [Foregate|Cairhien (City)], [Rand al'Thor|Rand] observes a [gleeman] entertaining a crowd with a story about the [Hunt for the Horn]. As he moves through the area, he notices individuals being branded with an image of the [Horn of Valere|Horn]. Approaching [Selene|Selene (Show)], [Rand|Rand (Show)] inquires about the activity. She explains that people are gathering to become Hunters for the [Horn of Valere|Horn], a tradition called every few hundred years in [Illian|Illian (City)]. [Selene|Selene (Show)] describes the Horn as a legendary artifact capable of summoning an army of the dead, noting that the Queen of [Cairhien (Country)] has offered half her fortune to whoever retrieves it and returns it to [Cairhien (Country)].
