[Liandrin] is standing in [Mat]'s room while he is sleeping. He wakes and is startled by her presence. He tries some light banter with her, but she interrupts, talking about losing a sister of incredible power and someone she respected. She tells him his door is open and he's free to go, but he doesn't trust that she really means that. She tells him that [Egwene] is in the [Tower] and needs a friend. She doesn't care where he goes because they are done here, and she starts to walk away. [Mat] is offended that after all this time, it's over without an explanation. [Liandrin] explains that a sister died today because she was ill-prepared and [Liandrin] was too busy with [Mat] to give her proper preparation. [Liandrin] never saw what [Moiraine] must have seen in him, instead seeing a coward who thinks he's cunning and witty and wallows in self-pity, blaming his friends for leaving him, when actually it was he who left his friends. [Mat] doesn't matter to [Liandrin] anymore.
