[Liandrin] walks out onto an open area high in the [White Tower]. She approaches an open furnace containing molten metal. She says a prayer to [Nynaeve] in the [Old Tongue] and then drops [Nynaeve]'s ring in the furnace where it melts completely away. [Egwene] approaches soon after, accusing [Liandrin] of wanting [Nynaeve] dead. [Liandrin] lets that pass and walks away, but [Egwene] weaves fire to block the exit. [Liandrin] kills the fire and the approaches [Egwene], saying that [Nynaeve] had the power, but [Egwene] was supposed to be the smart one and the one who knew her place. [Egwene] backs away until she's near the ledge. [Liandrin] reminds her of the oaths, which forbid [Aes Sedai] to lie, and then tells [Egwene] that she sent [Nynaeve] to the [Three Arches] because she believed in her, but [Nynaeve] disappointed her. She further states that it's not always the most powerful women who write history, but the ones who survive an if [Egwene] minds her place, she just might. [Egwene] tells [Liandrin] that she has no idea of what she's capable of, and then leaves.
