She has typical Tairen dark coloring. She is rail-thin with a long nose and seems to be a foolish twit. (ACoS,Ch10)

- Lelaine selects Selame from a local village about the beginning of the year to be a maid for Egwene. (ACoS,Ch8)
- When Egwene returns to her tent Selame is waiting for her to undress her for bed. (ACoS,Ch10)
- Now that Halima stays in Egwene's tent, Chesa, Meri and Selame share a small tent nearby. (TPoD,Ch15)
- Selame serves tea while Egwene and Siuan go over petitions. Later that day, after Aran'gar buries a body in the snow, Siuan notes that she is missing. (TPoD,Ch16)
