Spears of the dragon - An unacknowledged name given to the many male Aiel, even gai'shain, who have taken to wearing a red headband with Rand's olden Aes Sedai symbol.

    1. TFoH,Ch46 - After the battle at the city of Cairhien, Rand notes many Aiel spears and gai'shain wearing scarlet headbands with the Aes Sedai symbol on it. Aviendha says they are siswai'aman ("the spear of the Dragon"). They believe serving Rand expiates their sins in failing the Aes Sedai.
  2. In Lord of Chaos
    1. LoC,Ch53 - Rhuarc reluctantly tells Perrin that only siswai'aman and Maidens will fight the Aes Sedai.
  3. In A Crown of Swords
    1. ACoS,Ch2 - At Dumai's Wells Rhuarc and Gaul are the only Aiel men who are not wearing the siswai'aman headband.
