Rand POV#

Moiraine, Lan, Rand, Mat, Perrin, Egwene and Thom reach the ferry landing. Master Hightower arrives with six men. Thom twirls a knife and Moiraine laughs.[1] They cross the Taren River with their horses including Bela and Cloud. Moiraine wrecks the ferry and Rand shivers.[2] Moiraine creates a heavy fog that covers the river. She says there are not ten Aes Sedai who could do it as well.[3] They make camp for an hour. Moiraine begins teaching Egwene about the One Power. Egwene is excited about Aes Sedai. Thom growls when the Red Ajah is mentioned. Rand has only heard of three men who could channel.[4] Women who can channel must be taught. Otherwise, they might die. Those who are not taught but survive often become Wisdoms. Moiraine says Egwene could go far, even to the Amyrlin Seat.[5]
