Rand POV#

Perrin leads Rand, Mat and Thom into the inn. Min stops Rand. She has new viewings:

• Nynaeve - She's part of it, right along with the rest of you.
• The whole group - The sparks, Rand. She met Mistress Alys coming in, and there were sparks, with just the two of them. Yesterday I couldn't see sparks without at least three or four of you together, but today it's all sharper, and more furious. You're all in more danger today than yesterday. Since she came.

They proceed to the room where Moiraine, Lan and Egwene are with Nynaeve. Nynaeve says she followed their trail. Lan is impressed and Nynaeve blushes.[1] Before he died, she says, her father taught her to track as well as anyone but Tam. She wants them all to return to Emond's Field, but Thom challenges her. Lan appears to reconsider about Thom. Nynaeve came because the Village Council was too busy arguing about what to do. Mavra Mallen from Deven Ride is temporarily taking Nynaeve's place. Moiraine says she and Lan can sense and offer protection from the Shadow with saidar. Men who can touch saidin get the same protection, but sometimes the taint makes them more vulnerable. Moiraine tells everyone to leave and has a private talk with Nynaeve. Lan guards the door. When Nynaeve comes out, she talks to Rand. Moiraine asked her if any of the three boys was born outside the Two Rivers.[2] Nynaeve did not tell Moiraine, but she tells Rand that Tam left seeking adventure when he was Rand's age. She can just remember his return with a red-haired outlander wife, Kari al'Thor, and a baby. He asks her what she will do and she says we will have to see.
