Perrin POV#
Perrin, Gaul, Bain, Chiad, Faile, Ihvon and some Two Rivers men, including Ban and Tell are on the march after the Trolloc attack They soon arrive at a Tinkers' camp. Gaul, Bain and Chiad leave to sleep elsewhere, while everyone else enters the camp. As they leave, Chiad suggests to Bain that they engage Gaul in a game of Maiden's Kiss. Raen comes forward and welcomes them saying, "You are welcome to our fires. Do you know the song?" Perrin answers, "Your welcome warms my spirit, Raen, as your fires warm the flesh, but I do not know the song." Raen's wife Ila comes to his side. Ila asks Perrin about Elyas. Perrin tells Raen that his people should go to Emond's Field, but Raen refuses. Perrin is taken to Raen's wagon. Raen mentions that they have traveled from Cairhien to Ghealdan to Andor. Ila sends Raen out to check on Moshea who is fixing a wagon. Ila prepares a poultice for Perrin's side and a sleeping powder, then she leaves. Perrin and Faile talk about the last battle. Aram enters the wagon and notices Perrin's eyes. He wears a red and green striped coat. Aram asks about Egwene, and Perrin tells him that she is now Aes Sedai and to go away. He does.
Perrin asks Faile who her father is. She admits that her father is Davram Bashere, Lord of Bashere, Tyr and Sidona, Marshall-General to Queen Tenobia and her uncle. She had two older brothers, who are now dead, so she is the eldest. She also as younger brothers, one named Maedin. Her father named Eran, an old soldier, to be her footman and he taught her how to fight. Perrin then tells Faile about his wolf abilities. Faile gives Perrin some water mixed with Ila's sleeping powder and he soon falls asleep.
