Egwene POV#
Sheriam, Anaiya, Beonin, Carlinya, Morvrin and Myrelle keep Egwene up late telling her mostly useless information and planning her speech. The only piece of use is that Merana is heading an embassy to Rand that should be nearly to Caemlyn by now. They have sent emissaries to every nation to plead their case. Gareth Bryne is leading their army. Logain was also Healed. Anaiya prepared one of the rooms in the Little Tower as hers. The next morning, her new maid Chesa helps her dress. While she is dressing, Romanda and Lelaine show up to give her advice. Chesa tells her than many of the servants such as Nildra and Kaylin are gossips. When she is ready, she goes outside where a crowd is waiting. Romanda announces her as the new Amyrlin. In her speech, Egwene names Sheriam Bayanar as her Keeper. Keeping with tradition, she absolves all novices and Accepted of their penances. She also raises Theodrin Dabei, Faolain Orande, Nynaeve al'Meara and Elayne Trakand to full Aes Sedai. Finally she declares a feast day in celebration.
Afterwards Sheriam leads her to her study. Romanda and Lelaine follow closely behind. They are furious because she raised the Accepted on her own. All three tell her to consult with them before making any more decrees. Egwene dismisses them then Elayne and Nynaeve enter. They have a gleeful reunion. Nynaeve demonstrates her Healing weave. Egwene has little feel for Healing and can barely follow. Elayne then demonstrates her skill with ter'angreal. Despite her strength in Fire and Earth, Egwene cannot follow at all.[1] They tell her that Min is also with the embassy to Rand. She tells them that Rand wants to give the Lion Throne and Sun Throne to Elayne. Elayne is furious as they are not his to give. They also tell her about the weather ter'angreal in Ebou Dar. The Sitters sent a letter to Merilille, but she will never find it as she is busy with Queen Tylin. It is clear to Egwene that the Salidar Aes Sedai chose her because of her connection to Rand and because they think they can use her as a puppet. She remembers Moiraine's lectures on the Game of Houses and thinks that she will have to use every bit of it. She tells them the trip to Ebou Dar may not take as long as they think.[2]

Notes (Possible Spoilers)#
[#1] This may be an indication that making *angreal is a highly specialized Talent that few can learn.[#2] Because she thinks she has figured out how to Travel.
