[Moiraine] returns home and sees a fire lit in [Anvaere]'s room and almost knocks on the door but then decides not to. Instead, she goes back to her own room and finds [Anvaere] waiting for her.
[Moiraine] returns to the Damodred house in [Cairhien|Cairhien (City)], hesitates outside [Anvaere]’s room where a fire burns, and enters her own room to find [Anvaere] waiting. [Anvaere] insists they talk, recalling their family’s ruin after their uncle’s actions[9] and [Moiraine]’s departure. She describes rebuilding House Damodred’s status, including her son’s betrothal to the queen, and claims [Moiraine]’s former allies now report to her. [Moiraine] praises [Anvaere]’s success, but [Anvaere] rejects her approval and demands [Moiraine] ask politely over tea for information about [Rand].

Actual Script:
A:
You'll pardon the intrusion. I didn't want to miss you. Please sit.
M:
[Anvaere], I've had a long day, I...
A:
This is not what a woman should have to do to talk to the sister she's spent half her life life idolizing.
M:
If you want me to apologize for leaving, I won't. An Aes Sedai cannot lie.
A:
No, of course not. In truth, you did nothing that I wouldn't have, if I could have channeled.
Light knows I tried, on nights when our family's future looked dim. After Uncle (their uncle is Lamas Damodred) ruined us. After you left.
But father always held out hope that one day you'd return and fix it all. You were his shining star.
Shooting star, as it turned out. Never to return once you left our sky.
M:
I would have come back if I could...
A:
Spare me the false penitence. You had your work and I had mine. Less important, certainly, but no less demanding.
Unless the Tower also taught you how to smile after someone spits in your eye?
Or how to beg a neighbor's housemaid for a party's leftovers. But I got on with my work, just as you did with yours.
Now my son is going to marry the queen (of Cairhien) and nobody will spit on House Damodred again.
M:
You've done well, little sister. Better than I would have done with the hand you were dealt.
A:
Thank you, Moiraine. But somehow, finally, I don't care what you think. I'm not here for your approval.
I'm here because you will not endanger what I've worked all my life to build.
This is not your house. This is not your city. And I'm not your little sister anymore.
All the eyes and ears you had here...they're mine now.
The head of the sanitarium, Celestin.
The guard you hailed at the gate, Sandair.
If you want to know where that redheaded boy in the inn went, you're going to have to ask me very nicely over tea.
(Anvaere pours a cup of tea and holds it out for Moiraine to take.)
