[Egwene] and [Elayne] are mopping floors in the [Tower]. [Egwene] notes that there's something different between her and [Nynaeve] since
she came back from her test. [Elayne] chalks it up to [Nynaeve] being an Accepted now, but [Egwene] doesn't think so.
[Egwene] complains that no matter how she tries to help [Nynaeve], she can't seem to say or do the right thing.
[Elayne] tells her to stop trying since [Egwene] doesn't know what happened to her in the [Three Arches] and questions why
[Egwene] feels the need to fix it. [Nynaeve] was there when she lost someone she loved ([Rand]) and she only got
through it because [Nynaeve] was there to hold her up, even though she was hurting also.
[Egwene] wants to be, and feels the need to be the same for her, like she used to be.
But [Egwene] feels smaller and smaller ever since she came to the [Tower].
[Egwene] and [Elayne] mop floors in the [White Tower]. [Egwene] remarks that [Nynaeve] has been different since her test, which [Elayne] attributes to [Nynaeve]’s new status as an [Accepted]. [Egwene] disagrees, explaining that her attempts to help [Nynaeve] never seem right. [Elayne] advises [Egwene] to stop trying, noting she doesn’t know what [Nynaeve] experienced in the [Three Arches] and questioning why [Egwene] feels responsible for fixing it. [Egwene] shares that [Nynaeve] supported her through the loss of [Rand], despite her own pain, and she wants to offer the same support, feeling she’s diminishing since arriving at the [White Tower].
