He is well into his middle years. He is tall and square-jawed with a large ruby in his left ear. (KoD,Ch16)

- Mercenaries Evard Cordwyn, Aldred Gomaisen and Hafeen Bakuvun request an audience with Elayne. They want more money because they are losing men. Elayne holds them to their original terms. (KoD,Ch16)
- Arymilla bribes Rhys a'Balaman, Aldred Gomaisen and Evard Cordwyn to switch sides. (KoD,Ch17, KoD,Ch35)
- After numerous feints against the north wall, Rhys a'Balaman, Aldred Gomaisen and Evard Cordwyn attack the Far Madding Gate preparing to take Caemlyn. Hafeen Bakuvun defends the gate for Elayne. (KoD,Ch32, KoD,Ch35)
- Evard Cordwyn is killed in the battle. (KoD,Ch35)
