• Dain Bornhald leads two other Whitecloaks in Baerlon when Mat splashes them with mud. He confronts Rand. (TEotW,Ch15)
• Dain Bornhald and four other Whitecloaks confront Moiraine and the rest of the party and try to prevent them from leaving Baerlon. (TEotW,Ch17)
• Dain arrives in Caemlyn before his father leaves and joins up with Eamon Valda in following Elayne to Tar Valon. (TGH,Ch5)
• Jaret Byar reports to Dain that his father was killed at Falme. (TDR,Ch10)
• Dain Bornhald and two dozen Whitecloaks confront Verin and the girls as they approach Tar Valon. They carelessly disclose that they came from Falme and that one of them is Elayne. He is enraged when Egwene channels to scare off his men. (TDR,Ch10)
• Eamon Valda receives orders to send half a legion to the Two Rivers and to meet a man named Ordeith. Dain Bornhald volunteers. (TSR,Ch1)
• Dain Bornhald and his Whitecloaks meet Ordeith at Taren Ferry and prepare to enter the Two Rivers to hunt Darkfriends. (TSR,Ch1)
• Dain returns from a patrol where his party was attacked by Trollocs. He tells Ordeith that he will not tolerate any more deaths among his men. (TSR,Ch31)
• Dain Bornhald and Jaret Byar lead a force of Whitecloaks to Emond's Field. There is a confrontation, but Perrin agrees to let them stay in the town if the agree not to bother anyone. (TSR,Ch45)
• Dain Bornhald, Jaret Byar and other Whitecloaks bring a dying man into Emond's Field. (TSR,Ch53)
• Dain Bornhald and Jaret Byar refuse to have the Whitecloaks fight for Emond's Field so Perrin orders them to leave the Two Rivers. Dain says he will see Perrin dead if the world burns. (TSR,Ch56)
• Dain Bornhald greets Eamon Valda when he arrives in Amador. Dain is drunk. (LoC,Ch31)
• Backed by Trom, Dain Bornhald and Jaret Byar, Galad confronts Eamon Valda on his assault of Morgase. In a duel Galad kills Valda and assumes the title Lord Captain Commander. (KoD,Prologue)
• Dain Bornhald, Jaret Byar and Trom accompany Galad as the Whitecloak army slogs through the swamp. (ToM,Prologue)
• Trom, Bornhald and Byar free Galad after the Lords Captain execute Asunawa. (ToM,Ch2)
• Byar returns to Galad from scouting with news that they captured prisoners. Bornhald soon determines that they were with Perrin who killed his father. (ToM,Ch4)
• Byar and Bornhald insist the Perrin is a Darkfriend who killed Geofram Bornhald and brought Trollocs to the Two Rivers. (ToM,Ch7)
• Bornhald and Byar set up a meeting between Perrin and Galad. (ToM,Ch10)
• Perrin and Galad meet in parley with Bornhald and Byar. They accuse him of killing two Whitecloaks and Geofram Bornhald. (ToM,Ch26)
• Byar and Bornhald testify at Perrin's trial. Perrin admits to killing the two Whitecloaks but says he fought on the same side as Geofram Bornhald. Byar vehemently objects when Galad agrees to delay Perrin's punishment until after the Last Battle. (ToM,Ch34)
• Byar and Bornhald are still upset when Galad orders them to strike camp and march to Lugard. (ToM,Ch35)
• When victory over the Shadowspawn seems certain, Byar attacks Perrin from behind but Bornhald kills him. (ToM,Ch41)
