Physical Description#
He is skinny with a big nose and ears, and is fifteen or sixteen. (LoC,Ch3) He is sixteen and still has blotches on his cheeks. (TPoD,Ch13)
Chronology (Possible Spoilers)#
- Eben is at the farm when Rand arrives with Taim. (LoC,Ch3)
- Taim teaches Jonan Adley, Damer Flinn, Jur Grady, Eben Hopwil, Fedwin Morr and the other two recruits to blow up rocks and shield themselves. (LoC,Ch11)
- Eben and Fedwin are with the other students when Rand addresses them at the Black Tower. (LoC,Ch42)
- Eben is one of the Asha'man who come to Rand's rescue at Dumai's Wells. (LoC,Ch55)
- At Dumai's Wells Eben is one of the nine Asha'man selected to accompany Rand back to Cairhien. (ACoS,Ch2)
- Eben accompanies Rand to Caemlyn. Rand plans to take him to Lord Semaradrid and High Lord Weiramon as a messenger. (ACoS,Ch7)
- Eben and Jonan Adley reach the hillforts with High Lord Weiramon and begin attacking. Sammael shows up and begins to counterattack. (ACoS,Ch41)
- Rand sends Eben to scout Amador. He runs into a Seanchan patrol and kills them. (TPoD,Ch13)
- Rand confronts some men loyal to Lord Brend accompanied by Dashiva, Hopwil, Marcolin and Gregorin. (TPoD,Ch13)
- When Rand says he will cleanse saidin, Torval, Narishma, Morr and Hopwil look at him with wonderment and hope. Dashiva looks poleaxed. (TPoD,Ch14)

- Cadsuane blackmails Flinn, Hopwil and Narishma for some unknown purpose. (WH,Ch13)
- Flinn, Hopwil and Narishma stay at the Sun Palace fearing that if they return to the Black Tower they might be blamed for the attack on Rand. (WH,Ch25)
- Daigian bonds Eben Hopwil as her Warder. (WH,Ch25)
- After Eben serves drinks, he and Daigian play cat's cradle in the sunroom of the Sun Palace. (WH,Ch13)
- Corele, Daigian, Merise, Damer, Eben and Jahar accompany Cadsuane as she Travels from the Sun Palace to Far Madding. (WH,Ch23)
- When Rand and Lan are imprisoned, Cadsuane and her party, including Damer, Eben and Jahar, go to the Hall of the Counsels where Cadsuane bullies them into releasing Rand and Lan. (WH,Ch34)
- Damer, Eben and Jahar accompany Rand, Cadsuane and the others from Far Madding to Shadar Logoth. Daigian, Eben, Beldeine and Nesune link and patrol the area. They encounter Aran'gar and Eben leaps at her when he detects her holding saidin. They drive off Aran'gar, but Eben is killed. (WH,Ch35)
