Location#
It lies in the southwestern part of the Westlands. To the west are the Mountains of Mist. To the south lie Amadicia and Altara and to the north and east is Garen's Wall.
Ruling Body#
Ghealdan is a monarchy. The monarch occupies the Jheda Palace in Jehannah. The current ruler is Queen Alliandre.
Events During the Series#
Since the arrival of the Prophet and his Dragonsworn, Ghealdan has had rapid turnover of rulers.
- King Johanin dies in a hunting accident after he fails to take the Prophet seriously. (TFoH,Ch39)
- Queen Ellizelle dies of poison shortly succeeding King Johanin. (TFoH,Ch39)
- Queen Teresia succeeds Queen Ellizelle and abdicates after only ten days by marrying a commoner merchant, Beron Goraed. (TFoH,Ch39)
The current ruler, Queen Alliandre, remains in power at the sufferance of the Prophet. She is the fourth monarch in the last half year. (TFoH,Ch39)
