- While Geofram Bornhald questions Perrin and Egwene, Jaret Byar enters and reports on casualties. He is upset that Geofram Bornhald is treating them so leniently. (TEotW,Ch30)
- Jaret comes into the tent where Perrin and Egwene are being held. He suggests that they might be able to escape. Lan then bursts in, there is a brief fight, and Jaret is knocked out. (TEotW,Ch38)
- Geofram Bornhald orders Byar to lead the Whitecloak legion into Alcruna. (TGH,Ch5)
- Geofram Bornhald leads Jaret Byar and a hundred Whitecloaks through Almoth Plain near Toman Head. (TGH,Ch29)
- Geofram Bornhald tells Byar that he spotted Perrin in a Toman Head village. (TGH,Ch44)

- Byar and Dain Bornhald testify at Perrin's trial. Perrin admits to killing the two Whitecloaks but says he fought on the same side as Geofram Bornhald. Byar vehemently objects when Galad agrees to delay Perrin's punishment until after the Last Battle. (ToM,Ch34)
- Byar and Dain Bornhald are still upset when Galad orders them to strike camp and march to Lugard. (ToM,Ch35)
- Byar accuses Galad of destroying the Whitecloaks when Perrin's army appears. (ToM,Ch40)
- When victory over the Shadowspawn seems certain, Byar attacks Perrin from behind but Dain Bornhald kills him. (ToM,Ch41)
