Lady Moiraine of House Damodred

Pronunciation: mwah-RAIN DAH-moh-drehd

aka: Alys, Mari

An Aes Sedai of the Blue Ajah. Her Warder is Lan. She is a Cairhienin noble of high rank in House Damodred, daughter of Dalresin Damodred, youngest half-sister of Taringail Damodred and niece of King Laman Damodred. Her House colors are red, green and white. Her older sisters are Anvaere Damodred and Innloine Damodred.

Physical Description#

She has large, dark eyes and dark hair hanging in ringlets. She is barely tall enough to come up to Rand's chest. A delicate gold chain fastened in her hair supports a small, sparkling blue stone in the middle of her forehead. (TEotW,Ch2) When she was young she was impetuous and hot-tempered. Moiraine meets with Prince Consort Brys and his son Diryk. Later she sees Merean. She goes to Lan and asks him to have Bukama watch her. (NS,Ch25)
Lan comes to Moiraine after he finds Bukama dead. They hurry to an isolated balcony. Merean and Ryne are there with Iselle, Brys and Diryk. She cannot prevent Merean from killing the three but she eventually stabs her in the back killing her. Meanwhile Lan kills Ryne. She disposes of the bodies. (NS,Ch26)
Moiraine and Siuan figure out that the Black Ajah does not know the Dragon Reborn is still a baby. Moiraine follows after Lan, tells him everything and bonds him as her Warder. (NS,Epilogue)
